Update (Thurs 3/21): the boil water notice has been lifted.
As of Tuesday, March 19th a number of neighborhoods of the City of Rochester served by the HIghland Park Reservoir are under a boil water notice. This means that the water that comes out of your taps may be unsafe to drink or to use to prepare food and wash dishes.
If you are in an affected area, you should bring tap water to a full boil for at least one minute (even if it comes out of a water filter, like a refrigerator) OR use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
For more information, including a map of the affected area, please visit cityofrochester.gov/boilwater or call 311.
