Every April the National Recording Registry selects up to 25 recordings (singles and full albums) that have significant cultural and historical value to be preserved in the Library of Congress. I'll be talking a bit about the origin of the registry and playing a selection of songs from the 2024 list that span nearly every decade of the 20th century.
