I begin with a salute to Fat Ash Wednesday. Rockin Rochester, David Johanson, and Jerry Butler (RIP). In the second half I sandwich two hippie era favorites with some early Kraut Rock from Amon Duul, and some experimental pedal steel music from the late Susan Alcorn (RIP). I wrap with a soft rock monolith from the 70s.
I just returned from a 5 day jaunt in Montreal, and Quebec City. During our visit I was able to check out a few wonderful record shops and do some digging.
Tonights show includes Canadian Records mostly featuring Canadian music, garage, surf, psych, Christian Rock, Jazz, and Experimental music...and most of it from the Quebec province. I hope you dig it!

As America as we knew it is being destroyed by an oligarchic wrecking ball, we glance back at the messages of the pop counterculture of the 1970s through the lens of the Hippies morphing into the ME generation...I also played some chestnuts of soul and jazz that feature extraordinary contributions by Black American Musicians. Lets stay hopeful and find some strength to push back!

I took a sharp turn from last week's darkness towards 'Beautiful Music', my take on the EZ Listening genre of the post war boom of the late 40's-mid 1970s. It was an era when Americans had more leisure time to relax and enjoy, additional expendable income to buy new HiFi and Stereo equipment, and musicians and record labels were able to experiment and push the boundaries of sound, as well as what 'popular music' could be. This is stuff dreams are made of, and I've admired and collected these records for years!
