We're back and flakier than ever! But the show must go on! So, it being June, we're kicking it off after pre-topic banter (tell me your trust circle stories! 585-542-5502, jimmyspaceboy@gmail.com) with 6 things straight people who go to Pride should know before they do and 4 reasons should definitely go out and support Pride! Rochester folks: look for Ross and his elaborate headdress in July! Yum.
And also you're annoying. Nah, we're just kidding! Unless we aren't! BUT--kicking off today's all new Sound of Tomorrow, Ross has a new thing he's testing out from PornHub! It's the Boner Buddy or I think that's what he was trying to get at, anyway. Look for us on Charlotte Beach if the weather ever gets above 45 degrees! After that, got some local sports news (I know!) and then "Malefic Dowery" by Of Montreal to reset our nonsense. Act Two is all about DNA testing and what of yours the police can get their hands on and we're out!
That's right, we're back in the WAYO LP Rochester studios this week for al all new Sound of Tomorrow and, boy oh boy, are we trying to keep it light. There is SO MUCH going on right now.... reading the news is hard. SO--we're kicking it off with a RuPaul ReCap! Who do you think is going to win the Season 11 crown? Let us know--jimmyspaceboy@gmail.com or 585-542-5502! After checking out TMBG's "Pet Name" (live in St.
It's Ross's birthday, today, yes!!! So it's an HZDJ mix in honor of the big day. <3 <3 <3
Want to wish Ross a very happy birthday? Tweet him up @soundoftomorrow or drop him a line at JimmySpaceboy@gmail.com!
We're out of the gates with a great big skit during which we broke very minimally (pat pat) on today's new Sound of Tomorrow! After the verry long drama, we've got an Unshelved Mystery (whoosh) and then it's time to hear "Month of May" by Arcade Fire! The second act gets, frankly, more somber and frightening as we talk about anti-abortion protesters and the new bad on abortion in Georgia. I'm not kidding, folks... I'm terrified.
But also: menses!
Gosh, we were mostly looking for people to call in today and let me know what they wanted me to leave them in my will but I guess all our listeners have some phone anxiety, poor honies! But we have tips to help that for you! And we have some stuff about BOOKS, yeah, we love 'em. After rocking out to a little "Psychotic Feeling" (my latest non-stop Of Montreal jam), we're talking diet culture and weight stigma. You know we couldn't keep the whole show sunny and fun!
Aww, Space Cadets, we got some sleepy animals for you today! And some smart animals that definitely know their names! Sooo.... speaking of sleepy, indeed, this episode description is. Ok! This episode, we're talking about how cats know their names and so do dogs, we got a Jack the Ripper Unshelved Mystery (whoosh, there goes the dust), we got a sleep study where you get to choose an animal, we got some great news about a recently developed malaria vaccine, and we got a little teeny stuff on voting! Are your breasts akin to any specific canine breed?
Ah, Space Cadets.... we're shuffling papers, we're cold but still sweating, we're woefully underprepared--oh, wait, no, that's just me, HZ! Ross is on point (and en pointe) as always! SO--kicking it off with a warning to those of us who fake smile alll the time and moving right into some good news for LGBTQIA+ kids and teachers! Quick break for an unofficial TMBG DAS "All the Lazy Boyfriends" and we're back with a discussion of Autism Awareness! Short and sweet, huh? I think I need a shower now.....
We did it! Space Cadets, on this very special Sound of Tomorrow, we kick it off with a skit written by the fantastic Austin Rich (featuring an original track by good old HZ herself) and then, after a little black hole update, Lee Chabowski and Rick Brame from Bloody Nature (www.bloodynature.com) call in from their shooting trip in Florida! By shooting, we mean rolling film, of course. Sounds like host of Bloody Nature Dale Attenbrow is handling enough of the, like, gun shooting.... eek.
Welp.... we were going to have a really fun show today with Lee Chabowski calling in and we were going to talk all about his cool new thing "Bloody Nature" available here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUMIpJdiJww3Y2xcwUEfERQ and all his neat and awesome projects. And then the phones went down. So, instead, we're talking.... yes! Women's issues!! 7 ways the world isn't made for women PLUs a lively conversation about what's going on with Cardi B.!
