Music Therapy

We all find our outlets in different ways. Some people work out, others drink heavily. I get my weekly dose of therapy by playing some of my favorite music for you for two hours a week.

Tune in for an hour of indie-rock, indie-pop, and associated genres. Then it's emo f. If you're not familiar with either, we'll explore a variety of the styles that fit into those two genres, from quiet and folky to airy and atmospheric to loud and aggressive.

With my first marathon just days away from this show, I'm simultaneously terrified and excited. And mostly, I'm in the mood to go for a run. Possibly the most diverse playlist yet on Music Therapy!

Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? These and other great mysteries of mankind have plagued us for centuries. While contemplating these deep thoughts this week, I am inclined to play music that matches my thoughtful mood. Enjoy, ye serious thinkers!

  • Music Therapy - May 10, 2016: Depressed (Part 1 of 2) Aired: Tuesday, May 10, 2016

It's not all puppy dogs and rainbows. In every life, a little acid rain must fall. Sometimes, everyone gets a little sad. Some people like happy music when they're sad, but not me. I wallow. Wallow with me.

  • Music Therapy - May 3, 2016: Hungry! (Part 1 of 2) Aired: Tuesday, May 3, 2016

It's not easy coming up with fantastic music to play for you people week in and week out. In fact, it's an effort that can work up an appetite. This week, we are downright hungry (for good music? for a theme?)!

  • Music Therapy - April 26, 2016: Wordy (Part 1 of 2) Aired: Tuesday, April 26, 2016

This week, I'm feeling verbose, loquacious, palaverous, discursive, garrulous, wordy even. That's right, the logophile in me - the word nerd if you prefer - is playing with crazy band names. This track listing is going to be indeterminable, inexhaustible, really long even.
